TOTOLE WITH 35 YEARS HISTORY

On April 29, 1984, Mr. Rong Yaozhong, the founder of Totole, came to Nanle county, Henan Province and Puge county, Sichuan Province, two national poverty-stricken counties, with a mission to help the poor. After considering the local transportation situation, he decided to research and develop "chicken" with reference to Japanese flavoring nucleotide technology and the theory of freshness-enhancing effect as a starting point to facilitate storage and transportation. In October 1984, a chicken-based compound was produced and named "Chicken Essence".

In July 1999, Totole's 56,000-ton chicken essence project was fully completed and put into production, and in August, it successfully joined hands with Nestle. The production and sales of chicken essence in the country exceeded the 10,000-ton in the following year, which also marked the development of Totole to a higher stage.

Based on consumers' demands, Totole vigorously develops its second pillar industry, and launches the innovative recipe seasoning series of "Authentic taste , one pack solution", the oyster sauce series of "Taste of oyster & abalone, just squeeze", and the Multi-layer Xian Soup Base Seasoning series of "Ultimate delicious pack for multiple uses", further building a diversified product matrix. In addition, Totole has upgraded its sustainability strategy, developed and implemented the "Net Zero Carbon Roadmap", and made a firm commitment with Nestle Group to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. In the same year, Totole focused on industry innovation and consumer upgrading concepts, and held the "2021 Totole Xian Science Innovation Forum".

After 10 years of hardships, Totole officially completed its first stage of strategic objectives in 2006, with annual production and sales volume reaching 56,000 tons. And a golden chicken bouillon can landmark building was built in its factory to celebrate the achievement.

In 2007, Totole opened a transparent industrial tourism channel, allowing consumers across the country to watch the whole process of chicken bouillon production and experience the real process of chicken bouillon production.

Totole further improved its food production process and standards, and passed the ISO220000 food safety management system certification to continuously improve product quality and safety.

The total volume of Totole's chicken bouillon products exceeded the 100,000-ton, the ten strategic varieties formed a scale, and the second strategic stage goal was basically achieved. In the same year, in order to better popularize the knowledge of Xian science, Totole created the "Xian Museum " and opened it to people around the world.

Totole was awarded the certificate of "National Excellent Enterprise of Quality and Service Integrity" by China Quality Inspection Association.

Certified by China Light Industry Federation, Totole was awarded the title of “Top 100 Enterprises in China Light Industry”. Shanghai Totole Food Ltd. ranked 95 in the fourth evaluation of the top 100 enterprises in China's light industry.

Totole has compiled the first "Xian " monograph—Introduction to the Xian Science and Chicken Seasoning Process, which introduces the knowledge of Xian science and industry development vividly and systematically so that consumers can have a more comprehensive scientific understanding of the science and rationality of Chicken bouillon production, while hoping to give peers and people who are interested in the compound seasoning industry some technical reference.

With the strategy of "Healthy China" put forward in the report of the 19th National Congress, the concept of healthy living has received more attention, consumers' health philosophy is improving, health consumption demand is growing rapidly, and the trend of upgrading the consumer market is remarkable. In 2018, Totole seized the opportunity of upgrading the consumption of condiments and registered the brand "Totole Authentic Xian", which focuses on "all ingredients from familiar materials", including the Totole Authentic Xian Soy Sauce series and Totole Authentic Xian cooking wine series in liquid form, and Totole Authentic Xian" Chicken Flavor Xian in solid form. In the same year, the first national Xian science knowledge competition was held to accelerate the promotion and popularization of Xian science.

Totole invested 56 million RMB to upgrade the automation and intelligence of its packaging line and passed the FSSC22000 global food management system certification, which signifies that Totole has established a comprehensive management system and fully meets the requirements of customers and industry regulations in food safety. In the same year, under the strong support and guidance of the Shanghai Science and Technology Association, Totole grandly held the "2019 Totole Xian Science and Scientific Innovation Forum", and in October officially inaugurated the establishment of the Totole academician expert workstation. It has further deepened the cooperation between Totole and universities, and research institutes, promoted innovation through science and technology, driven the integration of local and enterprise project implementation, base construction, and talent training while enhancing its own R & D advantages, and promoted the well-organized, institutionalized and long-standing science and technology cooperation.

Totole has passed ISO9001 quality management system certification, which shows that Totole has reached international standards in the integration of various management systems while continuously and steadily providing qualified products to meet customers’ expectations. In the early stage of the outbreak of COVID-19, Totole actively responded to the requirements of the municipal government, and quickly set up a leading group for the prevention and control and made urgent deployment. In the same year, a non-profit social organization led by Totole, the Xian Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, was officially established. The alliance works with many enterprises and scholars to cultivate an interactive, complementary and mutual cooperation platform to jointly promote the development of Xian science in China. The establishment of the Xian Industry Alliance also marks another integrated upgrade of industry, academia and research of taste flavor science industry.

Adhering to product innovation from the perspective of users, Totole has released three new flavors of recipe seasoning and two new flavors of Liquid chicken bouillon in 2022, and the product matrix of the "second pillar” has been further expanded. In the same year, Totole insists on the dissemination and promotion of Xian science, pools the strength of the industry to promote the safe, green, and healthy development of the food industry, blowing the horn of industrial innovation.
